Alert heightened anew for Kadayawan festival
A MORE strengthened security plan for the coming Kadayawan festival is in place due to the recent bomb attacks in Koronadal and Cotabato cities.
This was the assurance made by Senior Superintendent Catalino Cuy, Davao City Police Office director, in an interview Tuesday.
Cuy said they have heightened the alert level in the city after the Saturday bombings in Koronadal and Cotabato and it will remain until the Kadayawan.
Cuy is set to meet with Task Force Davao and the Kadayawan executive committee today to finalize the security plan for the festival.
"We will have to integrate our security plan with that of the TF Davao's to synergize the efforts of the respective agencies that will provide security," Cuy said.
He said he already requested the Regional Mobile Group to augment the existing DCPO force, new police recruits, police auxiliary and the barangay tanods to ensure a safe Kadayawan.
Cuy said he will be utilizing all of them to ensure that the Kadayawan festival would run smoothly amidst new terror threats.
Cuy said he already ordered for checkpoints in the entry and exit points of the city due to reports of a possible car bombing. (BOT)
