FOR buying construction materials said to be stolen by employees of a hardware store in Davao City, a resident of Ma-a has been charged by the City Prosecutor's Office before the Regional Trial Court for violation of the anti-fencing law.
Assistant City Prosecutor Stella Esparagoza Camino recommended the filing of charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1612 (anti-fencing law) against Gina Jumalon of Diversion Road in Ma-a after finding probable cause against her.
The complaint was filed by Eugene Go, the owner of Golden Hardware in Bugac, Ma-a.
In his affidavit, Go said that on July 13, he lost several construction materials from his warehouse with an estimated value of P30,000.
He said he reported the loss at the Heinous Crimes and Investigation Section of the Davao City Police Office and brought his employees, including the drivers, helpers and checkers for investigation.
But, on August 6, Go said, he received information that his employees delivered construction materials to Jumalon consisting of 21 pieces of GI plain sheets, steel bars, and others.
Camino recommended a bailbond of P24,000 for the provisional liberty of Jumalon.
A separate case for qualified theft has also been filed against Go's workers identified as Sam Nollora and Elizer Marcial. A bailbond of P40,000 each has been recommended for the provisional liberty of the two.
