Hernandez, Pacquiao fight on
BOBBY Pacquiao, younger brother of world-rated Manny Pacquiao, will go up against Carlos "Famoso" Hernandez on October 8 in Las Vegas in the biggest fight of his life to date.
According to boxing website Fightnews.com, Top Rank had sealed the bout which is one of the undercards in the Diego Corrales-Jose Luis Castillo rematch. Hernandez, a former champion, is rated No. 5 by the World Boxing Council and No. 10 by the world Boxing Organization in the super featherweight division.
Pacquiao, 25, has a record of 25-11-3 with 11 knockouts. He is coming off a sensational stoppage of Carlos Navarro and a victory over Hernandez will cement his place in the super feathwerweight division.
Manny Pacquiao, who is trained by Freddie Roach, is also fighting on September 10 against Hector Velazquez at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
