P2M for roof deck deleted from budget
THE City Council committee on finance, ways and means has deleted the P2 million allocation for the retrofitting of the unfinished roof deck at the council building from Supplemental Budget 1.
Councilor Bonifacio E. Militar, new chair of the committee, Monday said the City Engineer and the City Legal Officer themselves said the P2 million budget is not necessary.
Militar said that instead of allocating P2 million just for the retrofitting of the unfinished roof deck, the amount will be added to the remaining funds of the repair project.
The councilor said a new program of work will be made including the use of P3.9 million remaining budget for the second phase of the City Council building repair project.
Militar said Vice Mayor Luis C. Bonguyan agreed to the deletion of the P2 million.
The repair project includes the installation of the elevator and the repainting of the building.
Militar, who had just conducted the first committee hearing Monday after assuming the chairmanship last Tuesday, said he will try to have the committee report included in Tuesday's agenda of the City Council session for approval. (AAG)
