2,000 cops, 500 soldiers guarded Kadayawan fest

MORE than 2,000 Philippine National Police (PNP) members and around 500 Task Force Davao (TFD) members guarded the city during the last two days of the Kadayawan Festival that brought crowds and crowds of people on major streets to witness the Indak-indak sa Kadalanan and the Floral float parade.

Master Sergeant Lito Moratin, of the 5th Civil Relations Group at the Camp Panacan, earlier said in a radio interview that aside from the PNP and TFD members, several members of the Mobile Patrol Group (MPG) were also deployed on the streets to conduct inspection and mobile check points.

"Our PNP and TFD members were on mobile and foot patrol to maintain the peace and order situation in our city," Moratin said over the GMA-Superradyo.

The city provided food for these security men, delivering giant basketloads of rice and viands that are later packed in disposable lunch boxes and distributed all over the city. (JGR)
