Trophies, cash up for grabs in shootfest
TROPHIES and cash prizes are up for grabs in the 1st Mayor Manuel B. Brillantes Jr. Cup in Monkayo, Compostela Valley on September 3-4 in time for their Araw ng Monkayo celebration.
A media category was specially provided by Brillantes for invited media practitioners who wanted to join in the competition. The media category will be on September 3 only while the rest of the categories will run for two days.
The mayor said he has allocated 5 trophies and cash prizes for the best media shooters slated on September 3, Saturday, at the Hi-Lander shooting range in Poblacion Monkayo.
Aside from the media category, other categories are the junior, senior, lawman/military, lady, government employee and officials category and range officers category.
Participants will undergo six "courses of fire", namely the close quarter, backward walker, shake that thing, money market, barometric pressure and the lucky 9.
Registration fee for regular shooters is P600 while for the police and military is P400.
Mayor Brillantes said he thought of the shooting competition as a way to foster camaraderie among shooting enthusiasts from all sectors of society at the same time promoting safe and secure handling of firearms. (BOT)
