Crown Asia project is in housing zone
THERE is no reason why the City Council should block the Toscana housing project of Crown Asia at Sitio Durian in Bago Gallera, Talomo District, City Councilor Emmanuel D. Galicia Sr. said, as the area has been classified as a residential zone.
Coming from the recent word play with subdivision developers that saw a major revamp in the City Council amid rumors of corruption especially with regards the preliminary approval and locational clearances (PALCs) and development permits for developers, there are disparaging talks anew this time against Galicia questioning the release of a PALC for Toscana when it was atop the city's aquifer.
If indeed the proposed subdivision is atop an aquifer, Galicia said, then there are mitigating measures that could be established to protect the aquifer and Crown Asia has committed to put up mitigating measures according to Galicia.
In a letter to the committee on housing on August 2, copy of which was obtained by Sun.Star, Crown Asia's Myra Lynn R. Gilig said they intend to put up a water treatment facilities for drainage outfall, centralized combined sewer system and three-chamber septic tank for housing units for the approval of the application of the development permit.
"After the granting of the PALC, the applicant is given 180 days to apply for a development permit. Expected na dapat in place na ang mitigating measures before the deadline for the application of the development permit. If they will not comply the mitigating measures, then we will not grant the development permit," Galicia said. (AAG)
