Ibañez wins bike event By Marianne L. Saberon
DAVAO Pobre Bikers Association (Dapoba) rider Glen Ibañez ruled the open expert event and took the best junior title in the just concluded Fruit Festival Kutabato Mountain Bike Challenge in Kidapawan City.
Ibañez bested Digos City's Rolando Gabijay who finished second and Danny Tapao of Torba who placed third.
Trailing behind were Probike's Ian Jake Ruiz and Gerry Tarray, Davao's Randy Yap, Torba's Richard Mahusay and Ben dela Torre, Davao's Eusebio Lodilla Jr. and Catba's Perigrino Bucol.
Yap took the best senior award while Gabijay was named best veteran and Lodilla as best masters rider.
Kidapawan's K. Phren Candari emerged champion in the funride A category beating Torba bet Alfred Panday.
Taha Banding of Cotabato City won the funride B, Mario Paz Jr. dominated funride C, Michael Bismanos topped funride D and Wilfredo Mancera bagged the funride E plum.
Panday was hailed youngest rider, Jeovy Sacare as undying spirit, Allan Montojo heaviest rider, Almer Camay best sprinter and Glen Yap best climber.
Torba-Tagum City took home the biggest delegation award in the event that gave away cash prizes and trophies to the winners.
