ComVal police chief accused of hitting cop's genitals

A POLICEMAN accused a top ranking police official of Compostela Valley province of hitting his sex organ while he was taking pictures during the police official's birthday celebration Wednesday night.

Police Officer 3 Henry Ruiz, assigned at the Public Information Office (PIO) of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 in Camp Catitipan, appeared before the San Pedro police station and accused Senior Superintendent Paulino Mendez of hitting his sex organ in front of many guests.

Ruiz told police the incident happened at around 11 p.m. at Mendez's house at Doņa Viocenta Village in Davao City.

Ruiz said that Mendez invited him in his house for his 56th birthday party and asked him to take pictures during the celebration.

But while taking pictures, Ruiz said he was called by Mendez and when he was right in front of him, Mendez allegedly hit his sex organ without provocation.

Ruiz said he felt humiliated because a lot of guests saw what happened.

In a telephone interview, Mendez denied Ruiz's allegations, but said the complainant was demanding money from him for his services.

"Unbecoming yung ginawa nya (Ruiz) eh nagdi-demand sya ng pera, P3,000," Mendez said. "Wala syang (Ruiz) disiplina."

Sun.Star Davao tried to contact Ruiz to get further statement about the incident but his two cellphone numbers were unattended.

It was not known whether Ruiz will file a case against Mendez. (JGR)
