Sea Lions top swimfest

THE Coastland Davao Swim Team (CDST) was short of eight points for the Lumba Langoy Tuna Festival Swimming Tournament title but still emerged over-all champion in the Region 11 six-leg series.

The Sea Lions Swimming Club of Koronadal amassed a total of 657 points to rule the final leg while CDST got 649 for the runner-up honors in the meet held at the A. Acharon Sports Complex and London Beach Resort in General Santos City last Saturday and Sunday.

Placing third was the Dadiangas Torpedoes Swimming Team with 615 followed by South Cotabato Amateur Swimming Association (Scasa) with 314 in fourth, Polomolok Aqua Sprinters Swim Team (163) fifth, Dong Gonzales Swim Team (132) sixth and Plunge and Aquatics Swim Team (121) in seventh.

The Evangelista Aquatics Swim Team (58), Panabo City Swim Team (40) and Unattached (25) finished eighth, ninth and 10th, respectively.

Medals were awarded to the individual winners in every age group while team winners got trophies.

In the over-all series ranking, CDST was way ahead with 5,781 points after topping the Davao Mayor's Cup and Kadayawan swimming meets.

The Dadiangas Torpedoes garnered 5,142.5 for second place while the Sea Lions was third with 473.50, Scasa (2,564.50) fourth, Dong Gonzales (1,102.50) fifth and East (626) sixth.

Philippine Amateur Swimming Association (Pasa) president Mark Joseph witnessed the General Santos swimfest.
