Collapsible tents to answer classroom needs
TWENTY to 24 collapsible tents will be delivered soon to various schools in the city's three districts to make up for the dire need of more classrooms, a city hall official said Saturday.
According to General Services Officer chief Marvin Melodias that this is line with another program the Department of Education (DepEd) that is aimed at addressing the lack of school facilities such as armchairs, desks and classrooms in public schools.
"Aside from these armchairs and desks, DepEd has another program. We have seen more students, what we did is give them movable-collapsible tents," Melodias said Friday.
Melodias said the initial estimate of the movable-collapsible tents from the canvassing and public bidding that his office has conducted is pegged at P20,000 each.
"This is the initial answer or solution by DepEd through their energetic superintendent," Melodias added. (BRQ)
