Fight mars Holy Child-Ateneo game By Charles Raymond A. Maxey
THE game between Holy Child and Ateneo de Davao for the Milo BEST basketball passerelle crown turned ugly Sunday when a fight involving players and parents broke out at the Almendras gym.
The free-for-all fight reportedly took place after the game won by the Holy Child dribblers, resulting in injury to one of the players.
The incident happened near the comfort room when players from both teams crossed paths after the match.
One parent even reportedly pulled out a gun at the height of the melee.
The fight was only stopped when policemen arrived at the gym, which is located just a block away from the San Pedro Police Station.
Sun.Star Davao tried to get the comments of school officials Monday afternoon, but a male staff at the Holy Child School said only the guidance counselor can issue statement about the incident.
The guidance counselor was not at his office when Sun.Star called up by phone.
The Milo Best cage tournament was organized by one Peregrino Alicante.
