Chamber all set for trade show

ALL is set for the 7th Davao Trade Expo (Date) on October 14-16 at the NCCC Convention Hall in Davao City.

A press bulletin from the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII) said the trade exposition would kick off with a motorcade starting at Victoria Plaza Parking Lot C (fronting Metrobank).

The formal opening would be held at the NCCC Convention Hall with Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) 11 Regional Director Merly Cruz, US Commercial Attache Brent E. Omdahl and DCCCII President Bienvenido D. Cariaga leading the ceremony.

DCCCII is expecting more than a hundred exhibitors to participate in this event.

DCCCII is positive that there would be a big turnout of both participants and visitors. The Date 2005 is seen to gather 2000 to 2500 visitors' everyday.

This year's exhibit theme, "We Mean GLOBAL Business," expresses the primary objective of the event, which is to provide opportunities for businesses in the City, big or small, to expand and reach new markets and conquer new business opportunities that would redound to the overall success of the businesses in Davao City making them more competitive in the global business setting.

What proves that this year's Date goes global is the participation of nine US companies that would showcase their various products with demonstration and matchmaking activities with Davao and Mindanao business contacts.

The US Pavillion would also provide visitors with catalogues and brochures of more than 140 leading American firms representing various sectors from agricultural equipment to travel and tourism services, consumer goods, ICT to plastic, power, construction and water resources.

Participating companies include 3M Philippines, Electrobus Consolidated, Inc., Federal Express Corporation, Kimberly Clark Philippines, Kraft Foods, Inc. (Philippines), Marsman Drysdale Corporation, Mary Kay Philippines, Sara Lee Direct Selling Philippines and Stanfilco, A Division of DOLE Philippines.
