SMEs urged to join bazaar to boost income

THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) 11 has encouraged small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Davao Region to join the Weekend Bazaar, which would commence on November 11 at the Pryce Tower parking area in Bajada, Davao City.

The activity will run every Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.

The Weekend Bazaar is an activity conceptualized and organized by a private company called the Macarin Trex, a consultancy firm for promotions, trade fairs, exhibits, conventions, publications, and editing needs.

The bazaar would feature various creations and products of the region's SMEs. It would serve as a venue for them to have a stable market where they can showcase and sell their goods.

Macarin Trex President Cynthia B. Rodriguez said the event is mainly aimed at helping the sector market their produce.

"The target exhibitors for the bazaar are the SMEs as well as those families who need to earn extra income to survive the economic crises besieging the country today," Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez added, "The bazaar guarantees income to anyone who is willing to sell home-based cooked products, household creations, community-based endeavors, oversupply of various stocks, and wares of any kind."

DTI 11 Regional Director Merly M. Cruz said the event would offer an array of opportunities to local SMEs.

"Our SMEs should grab this opportunity for them to widen their reach. Through this bazaar, they could possibly find partners who can help them further boost their business," Cruz said.
