Two men arrested for beating wives
THE police arrested two men after they were accused of mauling their wives in separate incidents in Matina and Dumoy, Davao City Thursday night.
Nabbed were one Noel Taglucop, 25, of Matina, and Decederio Vergara, 40, laborer, of Dumoy, Toril.
One Doris Bagtong, 25, of Lafuerza Village in Matina sought for police assistance saying she was mauled by Taglucop, her live-in partner, inside their house.
The Talomo police said the incident happened at around 8:30 p.m.
A few minutes after, Vergara's wife, identified as Annie, also reported to Talomo police that her husband following a heated argument manhandled her.
Police said the incident happened at around 9 p.m. when Vergara arrived home and engaged in an argument with his wife.
Vergara allegedly mauled his wife, hitting her in different parts of her body.
Both victims were told by the police to undergo medical examination at the Davao Medical Center, which would serve as evidence if they intend to file charges against their husbands.
The case was referred to the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) section of the Talomo police precinct.
The suspects are now detained at Talomo police, awaiting the filing of proper charges against them. (CDC)
