The money spent by the families of OFWs in the Philippines makes the economy moving.

Nograles District office, in its bid to help unemployed Filipinos, staged a job fair at the entertainment plaza of SM City in Davao with more than 50 local companies and over 20 recruitment agencies hiring jobs for abroad to qualified applicants.

The companies, he said, were from hotels, travel agencies, car manufacturing, pre-need plans and others that need also sales agents.

"We thought of putting together these companies and other concerned government agencies in one roof so the jobseekers will only go to one place where to find jobs," Nograles said.

He added it is their way of helping the unemployed and at the same time assist companies find the right person for the job.

Nograles said he would recommend similar undertaking to his colleagues in Congress and launch another job fair in April 2006 for college graduates.

The jobs fair was held in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment, Technical Education for Skills Development Administration, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Department of Foreign Affairs, National Statistics Office, Professional Regulation Commission, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Social Security System, National Bureau of Investigation and PhilHealth.
