Chamber conducts training on manufacturing practices

AS PART of its role of to deliver effective skills enhancement and capability-building opportunities to members, micro, small and medium enterprise (MSMEs), and the rest of the business community, the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII) through the Small and Medium Enterprise Center will conduct a three-day training entitled: "Developing Food Safety Management System for SMEs" on November 8-10 at Casa Leticia in Davao City.

DCCCII president Beinvenido Cariaga said the training aims to

(1) provide better understanding on Good Manufacturing Practice programs and its vital role in preparing for effective Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) implementation;

(2) teach the importance of food safety by developing good hygiene practices to food handlers;

(3) learn to write and develop a GMP Manual for their company; and

(4) provide relevant information on the importance of food safety.

The target participants are owners, managers, supervisors, maintenance personnel, quality assurance personnel, environment health officer, retail personnel, internal auditors and new or existing HACCP team members.

The training will be conducted by a pool of consultants of the Small and Medium Enterprise Resource Network (SMERN) who were trained internationally on this course.

A minimal assessment fee will be charged to cover the cost of meals, training kits, and certificates. For more information, interested parties are advised to contact chamber staff through telephone numbers 300-2198 or 221-4148.
