No case yet v. cop, 2 pals accused as 'users'

POLICE cannot file a case against a policeman and two other men being accused of drug use as claimed by a radio report.

PO2 Henry Tinagan, 43, a policeman assigned at the Camp Catitipan, and resident of NHA Ma-a, one Wendel Tabanay, 24, of Roxas Avenue, and the complainant's son-in-law, Jayvee Layag, 32, who was renting an apartment on Jacinto Street, were reportedly sued before the City Prosecutor's Office for drug trafficking.

"There is no case filed, not even an affidavit of complaint has been filed. This case is still subject for investigation because all the complainant did was to have it recorded in the blotter that he saw drug paraphernalia inside the apartment of his son-in-law," SPO1 Isidro Templa of the Sta. Ana Police Precinct said.

One Rosalier Dagondon, 54, a resident of Woodridge in Barangay Ma-a and who identified himself as a government employee although he did not specify the government office he works in, accused Tinagan, Tabanay, and Layag of using shabu (methaphetamine hydrochloride).

Dagondon appeared at the Sta. Ana police precinct, Monday last week at around 6:30 p.m. and reported that he caught Tinagan, Tabanay and Layag inside the latter's apartment.

Dagondon also claimed that he saw several drug paraphernalia inside the apartment, which he turned over to the police.

However, Dagondon did not say whether he saw them in the act of sniffing shabu. (JGR)
