Woman sued for stealing Christmas light blinkers
THE City Prosecutor's Office indicted a woman for theft after she was accused of stealing four pieces of Christmas light blinkers and some grocery items inside the NCCC Department Store along Magsaysay Avenue, Davao City.
City Prosecutor Raul B. Bendigo forwarded the theft charges against one Ana Kristina Padilla, a resident of the Davao Empress Subdivision in Panacan, to the Regional Trial Court (RTC) through the resolution penned by Prosecutor I Nanette G. Lemana.
Lemana set a bail of P10,000 for Padilla's temporary liberty, who is now detained at the Sta. Ana police precinct.
Celso Terig, roving guard at the NCCC department store, executed an affidavit saying that Padilla was frisked at around 12:20 p.m. on November 5 outside the department store.
Terig said that he, clad in plain clothes, was roving at the second floor of the NCCC department store when he saw Padilla putting four Christmas light blinkers worth P2 each inside her small belt bag.
Terig said he did not approach Padilla, but tailed her instead until she went to the supermarket where he saw her again putting apples, lotion, and shampoo inside her bag.
It was when Padilla was exiting the department store that Terig approached her and asked to inspect her bag.
Terig then sought the help of one Danilo Malooy, security guard of the NCCC department store, who turned her over to the Sta. Ana police precinct. (JGR)
