THREE people wounded after the motorcycle they were riding smashed on a 10-wheeler truck in Barrio Obrero, Davao City, past midnight Thursday.
The victims were identified as Eddie Embudo, 28, of Barrio Obrero, and his friends, Joaquin Ponciano, 26, of El Rio Subdivision, and one Charlyn Lira, 27, of Agdao.
The incident happened at around 12:20 a.m. while the victims, who had just attended a birthday party of a friend, were onboard a motorcycle on their way to Embudo's house.
But upon reaching the corner of Barrio Obrero, a 10-wheeler truck appeared.
"The driver of the motorcycle failed to step on the brake since the incident was so sudden, the motorcycle smashed near the engine of the truck," a security guard at the Davao Medical Center said.
Meanwhile, the driver of the truck was not identified.
Embudo suffered wounds in his forehead, arms and thighs, Ponciano sustained wounds in his forehead and left thigh, while Lira suffered a fractured leg.
A concerned citizen brought the victims to the DMC for treatment.
