All are residents of Kidapawan City.

Also wounded are Elizabeth Peñas, Ester Laderacam and Endang Laderacam, 44, reportedly residents of Davao City.

Investigation conducted by the traffic division of the Digos City Police Office showed that the incident happened at around 5:30 p.m. while the victims were onboard a tricycle. Some were seated on top of the vehicle, while the others clung to the vehicle's side portion.

The victims were reportedly on their way to Kidapawan City from a family reunion held at the Aplaya Beach in Digos City.

As the vehicle reached the Aplaya diversion road, the tricycle accidentally hit the side portion of a private vehicle driven by Alfredo Magdula, of Bajada, Davao City.

It was learned that Magdula was on his way home from General Santos City.

The victims fell to the ground when the tricycle overturned.

Concerned citizens brought the victims to the hospital for treatment.

Reports said that the tricycle driver was drunk, but the latter vehemently denied the accusation. (JGR/NC)
