DC-Prisaa Meet opens

THE 2005 Davao City Private Schools Athletic Association (Dc-Prisaa) Meet opens at 9 a.m. today at the University of Mindanao (UM) Matina gym.

Southeast Asian (SEA) Games baseball gold medal performers Ruel Batuto and Edmer del Socorro are among the special guests in the opening rites.

Del Socorro will lead UM's title-retention bid in the sport.

Over 200 athletes will battle for honors in the annual collegiate city eliminations that serves as the qualifying meet for the Regional Prisaa competition and National Prisaa Finals.

The meet features basketball, baseball, football, softball, badminton, table tennis, lawn tennis, chess, taekwondo, sepak takraw, judo, swimming and athletics, among others.

The Ateneo de Davao University, Holy Cross of Davao College, Davao Doctors College, University of the Immaculate Conception, Rizal Memorial Colleges and Jose Maria College are fielding entries in the sportsfest. (MLSA)
