Young Dabawenyo still shines on 'StarStruck'

YOUNG and good looking Dabawenyo Chuck Allie remains in fighting for the title "Ultimate Survivor" of the country's original and most prestigious reality show "StarStruck" being aired over GMA 7.

It was Jeric Rizalado of San Juan who was kicked out of the show during its first elimination on Sunday. GMA 7 has expanded the search nationwide from where it formed a new batch of 14 young showbiz hopefuls, including Allie, who was chosen during the show's audition held in Davao City.

This season, GMA representatives say, is bound to be the most interesting as it subjects the new batch to a tougher and more fast-paced series of tests.

And unlike the first two seasons which was shown only from Monday to Friday, the new season will air six times a week after Etheria on weeknights and after Ang Mahiwagang Baul on Sundays, with eliminations shown live every Sunday night.

Also vying for stardom, plus P2-million worth of exclusive management contracts and P1 million in cash, this season are Sara Larsson and Gian Carlos of Iloilo, Bugz Daigo of Cebu, Jana Roxas of Tarlac, Vaness del Moral of Baguio, Marky Cielo of Mt. Province, Arci Muñoz and Rea Nakpil of Rizal, Jackie Rice of Olongapo, Vivo Ouano and Johan Santos of Quezon City and Iwa Moto of Las Piñas.

Rizalado was the first to be eliminated on Sunday. With the help of the StarStruck Council, composed of resident councilor and entertainment guru Joey de Leon, renowned director Louie Ignacio, and multi-awarded dramatic actress Lorna Tolentino, the contestants will be honed and molded into star material through battles of wit, talent, looks and personality. Hosted by Dingdong Dantes and Jolina Magdangal with Raymond Gutierrez, the show is directed by Rommel S. Gacho.
