Parol Mo, Buhay Ko (Your Light, My Life)
By Fr. Al Botero

THE parish of Our Lady of Fatima launched a yearly Yuletide event, Parol Mo, Buhay Ko, a lantern offering drive which kicked off on December 16, the first day of Misa de Gallo and will end on January 15, 2006, the feast of Sto. Niño.

The proceeds will go to the Parish Caritas Feeding Program Trust Fund for children in five public elementary schools belonging to the Fatima parish jurisdiction. Among the schools, who will benefit from the fund drive are Rizal Elementary School, Roxas Elementary School, Quezon Elementary School, Carlos P. Garcia Elementary School and the Zonta School for the Badjao Community.

The assisted feeding program for school children are undertaken three times weekly (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays) during the school year by the Fatima Caristas Program, headed by Caridad Franco, Parish Caritas coordinator and Gloria Bastes, Parish social action coordinator.

Parishioners and concerned citizens are encouraged to support this life-giving program for our children, the future of our church and our country. With P300 lantern offering, hundreds of poor children will no longer go to school hungry. Your generous self will surely improve our school children's health and well being, and enhance their learning capacity.

For more information about the lantern offering, please call Parish office at telephone numbers 227-2503 or 224-5992 and look for Sofing; call or text Odette at 09152782547, Gloria Bastes at 09203456851, Virgie Abarquez at 09177055186.

May the joy of Christmas be yours and bountiful blessings in the year 2006!
