Dry run for CTO one-stop shop set By Barbara Carla R. Quiero
THE City Treasurer's Office (CTO) within the week will conduct a dry run on the one-stop shop and the new system programmed by the City Information Technology System.
The new system contains the adjusted fees and charges based on the revised local tax code, said CTO Business Tax and License Division Acting Chief Catalino O. Bolo Jr. Tuesday.
Bolo said that a dry run is needed to test the new system, which contained the adjusted fees and charges after the revised local tax code was approved last month.
"We have a new tax code and we have a new program. We can never be sure if the system designed will be appropriate as embodied in the local tax code," Bolo said.
Bolo added that it is important to see the new system operating to make sure that the changes in accordance with the revised tax code are incorporated.
"According to CITS, within the week gyud, they will have to dry-run gyud, considering we will have to enforce that on the first working day in January. If the system fails, it will be our fault," Bolo said.
He said that during the dry run they would only be using presumed tax declaration to find out if the system would really result to the right computation of tax and fees.
Bolo added that they are only waiting for the system that is currently being prepared and developed by the CITS.
