Man charged with rape of 11-year-old neighbor

A MAN was charged with rape for allegedly sexually molesting his 11-year-old neighbor inside his house along R. Castillo Street in Agdao, Davao City on December 16.

Prosecutor Leo T. Madrazo recommended the filing of rape charges against one Rodolfo Tinda-an alias uncle Rody, who is now detained at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Southern Mindanao.

In his resolution, Madrazo said the genital findings on the victim are definitive for penetrating injury.

Lilia (name withheld for being a minor) filed the complaint.

In her sworn affidavit, Lilia said she was outside the house of the accused at around 11 a.m. when the latter requested her to buy softdrinks from a nearby store.

When she approached him to get the money, Lilia said, the accused held her and brought her inside his house.

Lilia added that Tinda-an threatened her with a knife and forcibly took her inside the room where she was raped.

Lilia said she told her parents about the incident despite Tinda-an's warnings.

Lilia's parents then sought the help of CIDG that resulted to Tinda-an's arrest.

No bailbond was recommended for Tinda-an's temporary liberty. (JGR)
