4 nabbed for trespassing

THE wife of Mount Diwata barangay capatain Franco Tito and three other companions were arrested and detained by the Talomo police on Friday after they allegedly encroached on a land said to be owned by the Gaisanos.

Arrested were Emerma Tito, Irene Leias, Dalmacio Orig and Edilberto Pinggoy. The four were part of a large crowd who entered a land near Queensland in Matina Times Beach Friday.

It was learned that Tito and company are claiming ownership the said land, which is also being claimed by the Gaisanos.

Talomo Police Chief Matthew Baccay said the four were arrested for trespassing.

Tito, however, claimed that the arrest was illegal.

He said they will file charges against the arresting policeman on Monday.

It was learned that the four were released Friday night after the Gaisanos decided not to file charges against them. BOT
