Bikefest underway

THE Tour de Koronadal 2006 Cross-Country MTB Challenge on Sunday in Koronadal City Hall grounds.

This was bared by coordinating Federation of Off-Road Cycling Enthusiasts (Force) president Dominic Carpio during the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn yesterday.

"They are joining the one-day race along with top regulars Hilario Ladra, Ruel Casaljay, Glen Yap and Glen Iba¤ez," Carpio said.

The Force chief said the 30-kilometer race features the expert open, junior 18 and below, senior 19 to 34, veteran 34 to 44, master 44-above, ladies open and fun ride open divisions.

"The route will be 30 percent pavement and 70 percent off-road," he added.

Cash prizes will go to the first three finishers in expert, junior, senior, veteran and master categories.

The race, organized in celebration of the 66th foundation anniversary of the city of Koronadal, is presented by the City Government in coordination with the Association of Cycling Enthusiasts. (MLSA)
