G-Com hires more e-Reps
THE first-ever call center in Mindanao has announced that it will start its full blast operation within the first quarter of this year.
G-Com Ltd., located along Sobrecarey Street in Davao City, is now in the process of accepting competent individuals who can complete their team.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo inaugurated the company on September 16, 2004 and the US-based Cyber City Teleservices Ltd is operating it.
For this month alone, the company is hiring a total of 175 agents to provide additional manpower to the 140 seats, which are operating for 12 hours.
However, G-Com Ltd. has not given any information yet as to when it will fill in the entire 280 seats.
From January 13 to 15, a number of representatives from the head office of the company came over to Davao City to screen all the applicants who joined their job fair at SM City.
James Down, service excellence director of Cyber City Teleservices Ltd., said that they are in need of e-Reps who possess the following qualifications: fluent in English and, or Spanish; excellent reasoning skills; friendly, upbeat and courteous; computer literate; willing to work on a shifting schedule; professional work ethics; and must be a female graduate of any four-year or five-year course.
Department of Trade and Industry regional director for Southern Mindanao Merly M. Cruz said that such move of the company would offer several opportunities, particularly job opportunities, to the unemployed sector of the region.
"And not only that, since more people are getting a job, it means that more money will be infused into the local economy. Therefore, something will be contributed to the growth of our economy by this development," added Cruz.
