Duterte ATF Cup underway By Marianne L. Saberon-Abalayan
THE Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte's Asean Tourism Forum (ATF) Cup tees off at 7 a.m. Tuesday at the scenic Apo Golf and Country Club.
Duterte, along with other dignitaries, will lead the ceremonial shots in the 18-hole individual golfing event that offers attractive prizes to the winners.
Honda XRM motorcycles await the winners of the hole-in-one, longest drive and nearest to the pin.
The over-all gross champion, over-all net winner and net runner-up will also receive special prizes in the tournament presented by the city government of Davao, TTG Asia Media Pte Ltd, Philippine Convention and Visitors Corp. and the Department of Tourism.
San Miguel Corp., Nanay Bebeng's Restaurant, Davao Farms Inc., McDonald's SM and Marco Polo Hotel sponsored the event.
Meanwhile, the CNN-ATF Ministers Friendly Golf Tournament will get going at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club on Wednesday.
Participants in both golfing meets come from Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) members Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
This is Davao City's first-ever hosting of the ATF.
