2 men face raps for kidnapping

CHARGES have been filed against two men after they were accused of kidnapping two children at RGA Village in Agdao, Davao City, on January 7.

Charged with kidnapping and failure to return a minor before the City Prosecution Office are Prince Aljer Lequin and his younger brother Jose Jeremias Lequin, of legal age, and residents of Barangay Sto. Niño in Tugbok.

The complaint was filed by Jonalyn Inting, 25, mother of two, the live-in partner of Prince and a resident of Ruby Street, RGA Village in Agdao.

Inting executed an affidavit, claiming the incident happened at around 6 p.m. on January 7.

Inting said that she and Prince have been living together since 2002 and stayed with the latter's mother in Tugbok.

Inting added that on December 11, 2005, she decided to rent a house in Agdao claiming she could no longer stand the maltreatment she is getting from Prince's
mother Alicia.

Inting claimed that Alicia treated her as a housemaid and allegedly slapped her face without any reason.

Through all these, she claimed, Prince never defended her.

On January 6, Inting said she figured in a heated altercation with Prince after the latter allegedly insisted they had to return to his mother's house.

Inting said she decided to stay in her rented house while Prince left her and their two children.

The following day, Inting said, Jose appeared at her house and forcibly took her children.

Jose allegedly boarded a tricycle with Prince who was waiting along the road.

Inting said she went to Tugbok to get her children, but the children were not there. (JGR)
