National Prisaa meet opens
THE 2006 National Private Schools Athletic Association (Prisaa) meet gets going Monday with the opening ceremonies at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Cultural Center in Pangasinan.
The Davao Region delegation led by athletic manager Joaquin "Boy" Sarabia is entered in the meet featuring tertiary athletes from around the country.
The 210-member Davao team arrived in Pangasinan Saturday in high spirits despite the tiresome boat ride.
Davao Region athletes will compete in athletics, basketball, lawn tennis, sepak takraw, volleyball, chess, table tennis, badminton, softball, swimming, and taekwondo.
Most of the events will be held at the NRSCC in Lingayen, venue of the 1995 Palarong Pambansa, while swimming will be held at Dagupan City's Olympic-size swimming pool.
Taekwondo will be held at Atrium of the CSI the City Mall in barangay Lucao, Dagupan City, while lawn tennis competition will be held at the Binmaley town auditorium.
Elimination rounds for basketball will be held at the city plaza of Alaminos and at the municipal gym of Rosales while the finals will be held at the Dagupan City People's Astrodome. (DSA)
