Mountaineering course in Samal

CLOSE to 30 participants will join the Pundok Habagat-organized Basic Mountaineering Course on Saturday at the Sights and Thrills in the Island Garden City of Samal (IGaCoS).

Spokesperson Eric Rosete said, "This course, earlier set last month, will now push through this weekend despite the absence of instructors from Cebu and Cagayan de Oro."

He said there would be instructors from the Philippine National Red Cross.

"Environmental awareness and jungle survival are among the topics that will ba tackled in the two-day activity," he said in yesterday's Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn.

Registration fee is P380 for every participant inclusive of identification cards, roundtrip transport fares from Davao to Samal and lecture fees.

Rosete said interested parties might still sign up for the course. (MLSA)
