Peres, Alcoseba rip tennis foes
REY Peres defeated Martin Barril in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, to advance to the next round of the Araw ng Dabaw tennis tournament at the Ecoland IV Tennis Club.
Anthony John Alcoseba joined Peres as early winners in the 16 years old and under boys division when he beat Nikko Villanil, 6-2, 6-2.
Vladimir Villanil, however, avenged his brother's loss by besting Francisco Lorenzo, 6-1, 6-1.
Other result saw John Rey Accion whipping Danilo Sison in the 14-under, 6-2, 6-2.
Meanwhile, the taekwondo tournament started Sunday at the Garden Oases Resort and Restaurant.
Jins from Beefit Taekwondo Center, J.T. Taekwondo & Fitness Center, Pingoy Taekwondo Center, Golden Shield Taekwondo Center, Sta. Ana Taekwondo Center, Mati Taekwondo Center, AMA Computer College Taekwondo Center, Phil. Army Tagum, Davao City National High School, Phil. Army Davao, Ateneo Tigers, Rising Dragon, Holiday Spa, Davao Central College, Eagle Claws, Marco Polo Central Gym and University of Mindanao are entered.
