City Hall to show off services anew in expo

THE City Government through the Human Resource and Management Office (HRMO) is sponsoring its third exposition at SM City Mall from March 11-18.
HRMO head Marcelino P. Escalada said the exposition is aimed to showcase the City Government's accomplishments and let the public know about the various processes involved when dealing with City Hall.
"This will broadcast to the people of Davao nga mao na ni among mga (that these are our) programs, services and these are the steps on how to avail these programs and services," Escalada said in an interview Monday.
Escalada said the exposition is a gathering of all the department and offices of the City Government in one venue.
"The problem man gud like in the case of the local government in Davao City, daghan na kaayo ug mga accomplishments but somehow along the way, wala siya ma properly packaged and communicated nga naa na diay ni nga mga accomplishments (Accomplishments of the City Government are not properly presented and made known to the people)," he said.
Aside from exposing the accomplishments of the City Government to the public, Escalada said the exposition is also a form of benchmarking the best practices of the city.
"Last year there were 27 municipal mayors and city mayors who visited the Expo Davao, murag ang Davao City man gud all over the region, murag nahimong model, benchmark ng mga activities na na-initiate, na-innovate sa Davao City (Twenty-seven city and municipal mayors visited Expo Davao last year because Davao has become the model and benchmark of activities of local governments in the region)," he added.
The theme of the year's exposition is "The City Government setting the trends in innovation."
"I have been visiting all over siguro mga major provinces and cities in Mindanao... (I saw how) advanced the City Government is already today. So, mao pud na among second purpose, siguro to model the City Government," Escalada disclosed.
