Chess event
NATHANIEL Garingo, 2005 UAAP silver medallist, and veteran campaigner Rainier Labay head the cast of the 2006 Cabanatuan Chess Championships on March 18 to 19 at the Plaza Lucero Del Pilar St., Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija.
"Gagawin ko ang best ko," said the 21-years-old Garingo, top player from Far Eastern University (FEU) in Manila who schedule to represent the country in some series US international chess competition under the tutelage of FEU head coach GM candidate Jayson Gonzales and asst. coach Rainier Labay.
Dubbed as 1st Major Artemio M. Llena non-master chess tournament offers P3,000 to the champion organized by tournament director Danny Lopez and supported by N.E.
Fire Marshall head Major Artemio M. Llena.
The National Chess Federation of the Philippines to be sanctioned tournament is open to all untitled and non-master chess players.
