City hurries reconstruction of burnt school

THE City Government of Davao with the help of the National Government through Majority House Leader Prospero Nograles intends to rebuild the burnt Palma Gil Elementary School before the start of the school year this June.

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said the National Government had already promised P15 million for its reconstruction.

Congratulations to the graduates of 2006! Post your graduation experiences and greetings here.

He said Nograles personally asked for the amount from President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo a few weeks ago.

Duterte said they are going to build a P30 million three-storey school building in lieu of the old building that was razed by fire last month.

The mayor said they are now looking for a contractor that could hopefully construct the building within the limited time.

"It is important that the structure be ready in time for the school opening," Duterte said. (BOT)
