Songwriters, producer laud group's creation

A GROUP of singers and songwriters, their managers and producers have jointly expressed Saturday elation over the creation of the Songwriters Organization Network Group, (Song) Incorporated.

Congratulations to the graduates of 2006! Post your graduation experiences and greetings here.

Rolly Guiñares, producer of the new singing band called Sidecrash said it is a welcome development in the music industry and augurs well for the increasing interest for Davao-made songs of Davao-based singers and songwriters.

Guiñares made the statement in a press conference organized by former ABS-CBN news anchor Aljo Bendijo, who also acts as manager of Guiñares' Sidecrash Band, at the Apung Kula function room.

The press con, attended by FM radio station managers and disc jockeys (DJ), is introducing to the public the homegrown singing band composed of lead singer and rhythm guitarist Bermin Gaya, lead guitarist Ronnie Binag, Drummer Nico Vincent Lopez, keyboard artist Ian Wendell Sison, and bass player Byron Contemplo.

The Sidecrash band has already produced its first CD album "To Live For You," "Kaibigan," "Maghihintay," "Until the Next Life" and "No Escape."

The group also expressed intentions to ally with Song, Inc. in its aspirations of promoting Davao City-produced songs and Davao-based singers as a welcome development to make Davao's music industry lively and more compensating for our talents. (Press release)
