Mercado is Class A champion
ED MERCADO took the limelight anew after hitting a total of 268 pinfalls for the class A title in the SBC Bowler of the Week tournament at the Fairlanes Bowling Center Sunday night.
Mercado outclassed Jimmy Sia and Aksan Amsirabi, who rolled 248 and 246 for the second and third places, respectively.
Unheralded Danny Litao pulled off a surprise when he beat Nars Agustin 238-230 in their class B championship match while Oca Aplicador settled for third with 229.
Mathess Domino took the ladies crown over Lydia Ampo, 247-222, even as Liza Berandoy scored 208 for third in the weekly tournament organized by the Sunday Bowlers Club.
The champions received cash prizes and booked slots for the March Bowler of the Month competition on Sunday.
Meanwhile, tune-up games kicked off Monday night at Mega Dover Lanes in preparation for Davao teams' entry to the Fedbop National Duckpin Bowling Championship Tournament slated April 24 to 29 in Iligan City. (MLSA)
