Montaña five beats Pryce
HOST Montaña Pawnshop-Davao relied on Philip Butel and Randy Panerio in the last 1:20 to pull off an 86-82 victory over Pryce Pharma-Misamis Oriental in the Mindanao division of the ML Kwarta Padala Mindanao Visayas Basketball Association (MVBA) First Conference at the Almendras Gym Sunday night.
Montana improved its record to three wins after six games while Pryce Pharma dropped to 1-3.
Over at the Cebu City Coliseum, M. Lhuillier-Cebu City Jewelers recovered from a long eight-minute scoring drought to hack out a 90-83 win over Toledo City Landmasters.
The coliseum was filled to the rafters with the crowd eager to witness the showdown between M. Lhuillier's Stephen Padilla and Toledo's Jimwell Torion, who are both fresh from their PBA stints.
But it was Michael Manigo who stole the limelight as he sizzled from the perimeter and topscored for M. Lhuillier with 19 points. (MLSA)
