Davao inks ties with China's Nanning City
DAVAO City has forged bilateral ties with Nanning, a progressive city in China, paving the way for mutual cooperation between the two cities.
In a signing ceremony of the letter of intent between the two cities Thursday afternoon, Mayors Rodrigo Duterte of Davao and Lin Guoqiang of Nanning agreed to promote mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two cities as well as strengthen friendly exchanges and cooperation to bring about prosperity in both cities.
Both parties also agreed to make concerted efforts, on the basis of equality and mutual benefits, to actively carry out exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, tourism, science and technology, culture, sports, health, education and many more and to promote development of the friendly relations between Davao and Nanning.
In his speech, Duterte thanked the mayor of Nanning for their decision to establish friendly ties with Davao, saying they have "come to the right place."
Guoqiang thanked Duterte as well, saying that they have enjoyed their stay in the city and invited the Dabawenyos to visit Nanning as well. (BOT)
