WTFM favored vs Davao U-19
THE University of Mindanao (UM)-bannered Wild FM team is the heavy favorite when it faces Davao Under-19/Columbia in their 2 p.m. semi-finals clash Sunday in the 1st PGMA-PSC Congressman Prospero Nograles Cup at the Tionko field.
Elimination round leader Wild FM entered the semis unbeaten in five matches while No. 4 Davao U-19/Columbia, with only one win and one draw to boast about, awaits an uphill battle.
The other semis match will pit No. 2 Hooligans against No. 3 Medvil. Their encounter is set at 4 p.m. Davao Football Association (DFA) official Erwin Protacio predicted that Wild FM is set up for the finals "but it will be a 50-50 for Hooligans and Medvil."
The semis victors will arrange a titular showdown eighter on April 30 or May 1.
Six teams joined the bootfest but cellar dwellers Solido United and Ebocci were eliminated earlier.
The DFA-managed tournament is presented by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Philippine Sports Commission and Representative Nograles. (MLSA)
