Tesda opens scholarship for call center agents By Barbara Carla R. Quiero
THE Davao City Technical Education Skills Development Authority (Tesda) is offering a scholarship program for aspiring call center agents.
Tesda 11 regional director Gaspar Solis Gayona said they have prepared 200 scholarship slots for Dabawenyos who would want to become call center agents.
Gayona said there is great demand for call center agents nationwide and even locally. In Davao City alone, Gayona said G-comm, the only call center in the city needs 400 agents in the next 90 days.
Gayona said they will be working in partnership with call center training institutions such as the Joji Ilagan-Bian training center and other private schools in the city.
"We would like to produce call center agents who can reach the standards of the companies," Gayona said an interview Friday.
Gayona said they are still in the process of polishing the curriculum of call center institutions.
Gayona said they will meet today with several government agencies such as the Department of Trade and Industry to finalize the said curriculum.
