Agency given until May 15 for landfill cost budget
CITY Planning and Development Office chief engineer Mario Luis Jacinto has been given until May 15 to come up with a cost estimate for the city's sanitary landfill.
As part of this deadline, City Administrator Wendel Avisado said Jacinto has been sent on a business trip to Subic to learn how the sanitary landfill there is being operated.
"We need the cost estimate for us to negotiate a loan with the Land Bank of the Philippines," Avisado said in an interview Thursday.
Avisado said it might take two months to process the loan after the negotiation.
"After two months, there will be another 90 days for the bidding process. Thus, hopefully we can start on this before the last quarter of this year," Avisado said.
The City Government will be loaning P500 million from Land Bank to fund its three priority projects including the acquisition and operation of a sanitary landfill. (BRQ)
