Xinjiang is multi-ethnic autonomous region in China with local minorities having different culture and eating habits.

Based on the 2000 census, Xinjiang has more than 10 million Moslem people accounting 58.23 percent of China's Moslem population of more than 20 million.

According to BPI-Armm, the invitation was coursed through the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) informing Armm that the Ethnic and Religious Affairs and Office of Economic and Technological Cooperation of Xinjiang, China will hold the food fair.

The fair expects to showcase the various facets of Moslem food and seeks to provide a venue for promoting a Moslem Food Industry internationally.

DFA believes that the participation of Armm in the event will provide the opportunity to understand the new Halal Market within China while observing the latest market trends and interact with industry experts.

Earlier, Armm conducted the Inter-Agency Halal Industry Development Conference-Workshop here aimed at establishing the Armm Halal Certifying Body similar to Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.
