Guv to expedite filing of libel raps v. militants By Ben O. Tesiorna
NORTH Cotabato Governor Emmanuel Piñol is adamant in filing libel charges against militant leaders who accused him of having a hand in the grenade throwing at the Anakpawis headquarters in Kidapawan City last week.
This after militant leaders laughed off at the governor's plan of filing libel raps branding it as ridiculous.
Piñol said the libel suit will be ready by Friday and assured that the respondents would be "trembling in fear" by then.
"Tell them to wait. I can almost hear their bodies trembling in fear as they try to put up a brave face. They would really get what they are asking for," Piñol said.
Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) Southern Mindanao Region secretary general Ariel Casilao brushed off the governor's threat of filing libel charges saying they are already used to it.
Piñol earlier denied any involvement in the attack and told groups dragging his name to prepare proof that could pin him down.
According to Casilao, they only challenged the governor because they haven't heard any statement from him ordering an impartial investigation on the incident.
