Davao 11 third in U-17 ladies

THE Davao City eleven grabbed the third spot at the close of the 2006 1st National U-17 Lades Championship in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

Davao, coached by Danny Boy Fernandez and Julio Orcasitas, nipped Dumaguete City, 2-1, with ace striker Herlyn Mae Salmon hitting goals in the 20th and 40th minutes.

Dumaguete player June Lily Mae Balasabas scored in the 25th.

Over in Butuan City, Surigao Norte clinched the East Mindanao Region men's title after defeating Agusan del Sur, 4-2.

The tournament was made possible through the efforts of Councilor Randolph B. Plaza and Mayor Democrito D. Plaza.

City councilor Cromwell Nortega, Butuan Agusan Norte FA general secretary Carlos Jamer, Surgao Norte FA president Stephen Gorgonio, & Agusan del Sur FA president Eric Pocon were present during the opening rites. (MLSA)
