Machinery, technology exhibit opens Thursday

THE biggest machinery and technology exhibition and business conference, dubbed as Manufacturing Technology Davao 2006 returns to the city where it all started in 1997.

With much vigor and enthusiasm, the exhibit will be held from May 18 to 20 at the Davao Convention and Trade Center and will have an impressive list of exhibitors.

The show will incorporate food technology such as packaging and processing, plastics technology, bakery equipment and ingredients, food and beverages, confectionery and handling exhibition, Industrial machinery: factory equipment and supplies, precision engineering, hardware products, tools, welding, technology and services exhibition, and T.O.P.S. Show: business solutions, audio and visual communications, digital printing, graphic design, office machines, furniture, corporate gifts, products and accessories exhibition.

"The exhibition is by far one of the biggest we have ever put together in this part of the country. We have gotten the full commitment of various suppliers that will ensure this to be the biggest and the best event ever out together," said Liza Mara, senior project director of Global-Link Marketing and Management Services Inc. (GMM), the organizer of the show.

She said almost all of the major brands will be displaying and demonstrating their products and services to buyers for free.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for companies to send their people and view the latest available machines and equipment used in manufacturing and modern offices today," she said.

"One of our exhibitors, Willshine will be showcasing a plywood making machine. This machine will be on display for the very first time and it is the top of the line model rarely seen in this part of the World," Mara said.
