Tan, Alvarez top bowlfest
ALEX Tan and Rikko Alvarez reaped top honors in the SBC Bowler of the Week Tournament at the Fairlanes Bowling Center Sunday night.
Tan hit a total of 237 pinfalls to capture the class A title over veteran Plutie Banlasan who came close with 234.
Tim Ando placed third after rolling 225 pins in the weekly tournament organized by the Sunday Bowlers Club under its president Emie Orteza.
In class B, Alvarez scored 230 for the crown while Cesar Rentuma and Lino Pairat made identical 225 to share the second spot. Placing third was Rudy Benigno, who struck for 224.
The champions received cash prizes from the organizers. They will also advance to the May Bowler of the Month finals.
The weekly meet will resume on Sunday. (MLSA)
