Comval hospital chief resigns amid 'scam'

THE chief of the Montevista District Hospital resigned in the middle of the ongoing investigation on the so-called "medicine scam."

Dr. Eulalio Dujali said he decided to resign from his post for "multifactorial reasons".

Dujali said he had long planned of resigning from his post.

He admitted that the ongoing investigation of the Provincial Board is one of the reasons, but not a major factor in his decision.

"Actually matagal nang gusto ng family ko na mag-resign ako sa trabaho. And they are happy with my resignation," Dujali said.

The doctor said he also do not want to be accused of influencing or obstructing the investigation, thus his resignation.

Dujali also welcomed the possibility of an Ombudsman investigation on the matter, saying he has a clear conscience.

He said he only hopes that whoever replaces him as chief of the hospital would continue the programs and projects geared for the improvement of the hospital and its patients.

Dujali was chief of Montevista District Hospital for eight years.

He plans to start a polyclinic in Panabo City, along with his relative doctors and friends. (BOT)
